About

I am a materials and process engineer specialized in glass and ceramics, completing my Dr.-Ing. at RWTH Aachen University, Institute of Mineral Engineering (GHI).

What drives me is making container glass production more sustainable without giving up efficiency and reliability.

I like building things that a plant could actually use. I also have a slight tendency toward overengineering: I take routes that look unnecessarily complex at first, because I would rather have a model that survives contact with a real process than one that is elegant on paper.

That is also why I do not stay at the desk. I run forming trials on pilot equipment myself and have accompanied trials on production lines, which is where I find out what my simulations still get wrong.

Research Associate·Institute of Mineral Engineering (GHI) - RWTH Aachen

Worked on the ZeroCO₂-Glass project, contributing to a holistic approach for CO₂ reduction in container glass production. Within the project team, I contributed to automated measurement systems, process data pipelines, analytics, and a simulation-based prediction workflow for glass forming, while also supporting pilot-plant commissioning, a central data platform, and a digital documentation system for safety briefings alongside supervision of student assistants and thesis projects. The ZeroCO₂-Glass project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK, grant number 03EN2075B), was conducted in partnership with IPGR, IOB and the Glass-Ceramics Chair of RWTH Aachen University, HORN Glass Industries AG, and Wiegand-Glashüttenwerke GmbH. External project coverage by neue verpackung / interpack News describes the pilot plant, forming measurements, and digital-model workflow.
